Flt Lt D.A. Haigh

David Allan Haigh joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve as a Sergeant on 20 January 1942, with the Service Number 115336.

By early 1944, he was a Navigator/Radar Operator with No.125 (Newfoundland) Squadron operating Beaufighters from RAF Valley on Anglesey, where he crewed up with Eric Barwell as his regular pilot.

On 23 April 1944, 125 Squadron, with Sqn Ldr Barwell and (the now Flight Lieutenant) Haigh, were flying Mosquito NF Mk. XVII night fighters from RAF Hurn, Bournemouth.

On 17 August 1945, the London Gazette announced the award of a Distinguished Flying Cross to Flt Lt Haigh, who was still with No. 125 Squadron at that time.
